The Farmers Market in Hershey is open on Thursdays from 2:30-6:30 p.m. beginning May 23. The market features locally grown organic fruits and vegetables, free-range poultry and eggs, grass-fed beef, pork and lamb, cheeses and dairy, artisanal breads, baked goods and more. The market also features free weekly health screenings, preventative health education and children’s programs. A summer concert series featuring local musicians will overlap with the farmer’s market every Thursday from 6-8 p.m. through Sept. 12. The concerts are free and open to the public.
The Farmers Market in Hershey is located next to the Cocoa Beanery off Bullfrog Valley Road/US 322, 1214 Research Boulevard in Hummelstown.

The Derry Township and Steelton Borough’s Community Cats programs are hosting low-cost rabies and distemper vaccine clinic for cats and dogs at the Hershey Fire Company (21 W. Caracas Ave., Hershey) on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and the clinic will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Vaccines are available on a first come, first served basis. All dogs must be on a short leash and cats in a secure carrier. Breeders will not be serviced. Additional clinics will be held at the Swatara Township Building on Eisenhower Blvd. on Sunday, June 9, and Saturday, July 20. Residents with questions about the clinic can call 215-0674.

On Memorial Day (May 27), interested residents can stop by the Hummelstown square from 9-10 a.m., prior to the start of the parade, to make cards of thanks and support for our troops serving abroad. |
